  Man of his word

  “ I bought a 21ft CC Proline offshore rig from Mike some 20 + years ago..SIGHT UNSEEN. I called him on the phone, told him what I was looking for and he told me about this big Proline he had. After looking at all the pics he sent me and gave me his word that the compression on each cyl was x amount and the 150hp Yamaha ran just fine with no issues.. I asked him one question. If I buy it and find anything mechanical or quality that I don't like, can I return it? He told me he would give me so many days. ( I think it was two weeks or so ) He drove somewhere around 100 miles straight down I- 55 and brought it to me. I gave him his check, hooked it on the back of my big chev K Blazer and went straight to Grand Isle with it. Two days later I called him and told him to cash the check.I kept that rig about ten yrs or so , never had a speck of trouble of any kind .I wish all the business transactions I have made were as good as that one. I doubt if he remembers me after all this time, but this is a true story, so you don't have to guess what I think about Mike at Hales Marine.”

  Just horrible

  “Had our boat for 2 months just to fix the starter. They never called us back for updates when we called to check on it. It never got fixed so we had to pick it up and bring somewhere else. They said the whole engine has to come out to replace the starter.”
