  lousy customer service

  “I have had my boat serviced at Petersen numerous times. I have found them to be slow, unresponsive, and difficult to reach. The problem with boat service is that you don't know if the work was done properly until your next time on the lake, which can be weeks later or even next season. Almost every time I have had service there, they have had to re-do the work AT LEAST once and sometimes they never fix the problem.\nMy boat has been in there for weeks for a simple problem and I have not heard a peep. I called the day before the July 24 holiday weekend and never heard back. Since I had a big boating group lined up for Saturday 7/26 I decided I would just stop in Friday 7/25 to pick up my boat whether the repair was done or not. To my total surprise, the shop was closed 7/24-7/28, right on the busiest boating weekend of the year! No signage talking about the extended vacation closure and even their phone message only mentions a July 4 closure. With no way to get to my boat, I had to RENT a boat for over $400 dollars for the day from the marina at the lake! the problem is that Petersen Marine has no competition in Draper so they can totally get away with lousy customer service and a general attitude of apathy. \nI would never consider buying a boat from Petersen since I suspect the general apathy carries over into sales, support, warranty backup etc.\nSomeone needs to open a decent boat repair shop in the Sandy/Draper area!!”
